This study examined and analyzed the journalistic uses of mobile phones in professional media practice, particularly in news editing, based on a random sample of Yemeni journalists working in local media outlets during the period from (2025) to (2026).
The study aimed to identify the difficulties and challenges they face when using mobile phones in their professional work by addressing a number of questions related to the subject of the study.
The study adopted the descriptive-analytical approach and employed questionnaires, observation, and interviews as tools for collecting information and data. The sample consisted of 112 respondents.
The study found that journalists rely heavily on mobile phones for news gathering and event coverage, as they represent an essential tool for conducting interviews and photography due to their speed, ease of use, and efficiency. The findings also showed that the use of mobile phones contributes to improving the accuracy of information and accelerating news dissemination without negatively affecting the quality of news content.
The study concluded with several recommendations, most notably the importance of addressing infrastructure-related challenges associated with developing the professional performance of mobile journalism, as well as the need for continuous training to ensure the optimal use of this important technology and to benefit from the latest technological developments in the field.
