The Faculty of Community Development and the Center for the Rehabilitation of Imams and Preachers organize a Health and Outreach Day at the Elkawahla and Lahwiyin Villages Complex

Under the patronage of Professor Mohamed Mahdi Bukhari, Director of Elimam Elmahdi University, the Faculty of Community Development and the Center for the Rehabilitation of Imams and Preachers organized a Health Day at the Elkawahla and Lahwiyin Villages Complex and the villages of Duwaih, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Social Development of White Nile State, the Pioneers Initiative for Sustainable Development, the Mental Health Association, and the Hajar Asalaya Mothers Association.

The event was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Nour Eldin Etahir; the Dean of the Faculty of Community Development, Dr. Mohamed Elmakki; Professor Anas Ibrahim, Director of the Center for Imams and Preachers; Dr. Ali Elshin, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities; a number of university staff members; the Medical Director ofEljazira Aba Hospital, Dr. Ali Ahmed; the Director of Elmarabi‘ Health Center, Dr. Jihad Nasr Eldin; and Ms. Fatima Elsadiq, Head of the Mental Health Association inEljazira Aba.

Addressing the gathering, the Director of the University affirmed the university’s keenness to implement such programs that serve the community, praising the efforts exerted by the Faculty of Community Development in various service, training, and awareness-raising fields. He also pledged to overcome all obstacles that may hinder the implementation of the faculty’s activities and programs.

The Dean of the Faculty of Community Development explained that the faculty gives great importance to health within its annual program, in addition to other accompanying programs. He stated that the day included health and treatment services, religious outreach programs, and psychological counseling activities, pointing out the pioneering role played by the State Ministry of Health and Social Development in supporting the health convoys implemented by the faculty within the framework of partnership with the university.

Professor Anas Ibrahim, Director of the Center for Imams and Preachers, also delivered a lecture on the importance of time and investing it in obedience to Allah, which was well received and appreciated by the residents of the area, in addition to the awareness and psychological guidance sessions provided by the Mental Health Association team.
