2) Objectives of the curriculum

1) To develop professional educational expertise in English language teaching and learning.

2) To provide the learners with broad knowledge identical to teaching and learning processes.

3) To train the students to be qualified as teachers of English language for basic and secondary level.

4) To Produce  competent graduates in English language to be teachers for basic and secondary level so as to meet the needs of the Sudan in the following educational areas:

a. Teaching students basic skills in English language.

b. Teaching students the scientific and literary translation in order to enrich the language of their talents and perfecting translation skill.

c. Enabling students to study English analytical study (such as grammar and linguistics ... etc) And prepare them for advanced studies in  Linguistics Sciences.

d. Expanding the perceptions of students in the study of English literature and the world literature written originally in English, and enrich the appreciation and sense of literary appreciation for the purpose of educating them in the civilizations of the people.

5) To expose the EFL learners to the culture of English language.

6) To enable university students to learn English as a foreign language.

7) To improve learners' proficiency in the language to facilitate communication in foreign language.

8) To encourage the scientific research in the language and language teaching at the tertiary level.

9) design and implement evaluative tools to assess learners in learning English
